On the weekend of Dec. 4 and 5, we were lucky enough to have Joe Fargis come to Buckbranch to teach a showjumping clinic. Everyone took advantage of the opportunity to train with a world class trainer and it seemed like everyone had fun. Joe had great advice for everyone and really enforced his classic riding philosophies. It was great fun and I'm very excited that Joe enjoyed the clinic and agreed to come back in the future. Below is a gallery of pictures from the clinic. Enjoy!

The weekend before Thanksgiving we finished our last competition of the season, Texas Rose HT. It was a mixed bag of results. For the most part everyone did well but, with 11 horses there, things were a bit hectic for the team. Here are the results:

Novice:
Grayson finished in 8th place adding only 1 rail to her dressage score.
Hannah Fain learned a tough lesson that there is always a Plan B when she missed a turn and presented her horse, incurring a technical +20. To add to it, Hannah would have won!
Vivian was finally able to put all 3 phases together after rain outs and minor things that made her miss shows! She finished in 9th place with only +4 added to her dressage score. She is going to be a superstar- look out for her in the spring!

Beginner Novice:
Maragaret Stocker lead our group with a personal best dressage score and finished in 7th place.
In that same division, Kristen Turner finished in 14th for her first recognized show on her new horse, Eli.
In division B, Lauren Hoover finished in 3rd place on Permesso.
Susannah Rodrigue finished in 11th place on Joshua and Carly finished in 12th.
Erica Swigart finished 6th and 8th in Open BN on her two young horses. She rode our mare, Zoey, to 6th place and her new prospect, Ryle, to 8th place.

On a funny note, Hannah Fain's horse, Trio, endured the competition with a bug bite on his belly. To make sure that it was only that, we had his "boob" ultrasounded. The kids didn't miss at an opportunity for some fun learning and, while Trio was going to be ok, Kristen Turner was diagnosed with possible gas colic...check out the picture.
