About Me.
Short Version!
Longer Version! Many people say I began riding in my mother's womb. Technically, I believe I began riding at age 3. Whichever side you chose, my riding career began early with my mother as a well-known and respected horseback riding instructor in Dallas, Texas. I began showing at age 3 in lead-line classes and my career spiraled upward from there. By age 7, I began competing in dressage competitions and by age 10, I had completed my inaugural First Level dressage test at a recognized show in Dallas. For the next several years, I schooled as many horses as I could through Third Level and competed my own horse to Second Level, securing many area championships and blue ribbons throughout the levels. After an unsuccessful search for an affordable dressage schoolmaster to take me to the North American Young Riders Championships, I resorted to my second discipline of choice, Eventing. While I was competing in dressage competitions, I had been eventing on the side with many horses; however, my talented Twinkle Toes got me hooked. With much hard work and dedication, Twinkle Toes and I had a stellar year in 2005 winning the Jersey Fresh CCI** and gaining a gold medal on the Area 5 NAYRC(Junior Olympics) CCI** team. In 2006 we attempted the Advanced level with mixed results due to an undiagnosed micro fracture in his shoulder. Along the way I was able to gain rides on other talented mounts but, because of my financial situation, could never really afford a second horse to take me to the next level. Making the most of my living situation in Middleburg, Virginia(undoubtedly the horse mecca of the United States) I galloped racehorses, foxhunted, and decided to focus on dressage and showjumping. After earning my United States Dressage Federation Bronze Medal, I started training with Joe Fargis. Competing up and down the east coast from the Winter Equestrian Festival to the Upperville Horse Show(the oldest show in the country), I gained valuable jumper knowledge. In May 2009, I graduated George Mason University with a B.S. in Finance and am ready to come home to Texas to start my career under my mother's business, Becky Brown Horsemanship. | About The Buckbranch (Our Facility).
