Florida is just around the corner and we’ve started to prep earnestly for competition in February. The horses are gearing up with their training and fitness. Junior has come back great from his CCI4L at Galway and will probably be aiming at Jersey Fresh CCI4L in May. I am excited to have the opportunity to train more with Leslie Law in Ocala- thanks to making the USEF Developing Squad. Harbin has benefited from a winter of dressage and gymnastics and is feeling so strong in his body; I’m looking forward to aiming at CCI3L competitions this year. Phillip Dutton came to teach a clinic(in the snow, who would’ve thought?!) and was really please with how the horses came out of the winter.

We added two 5yo to the crew in 2020 and they will be looking to make their competitive debut this year. They will probably do a YEH competition and a few USEA shows at Novice and Training to dip their toes and  learn the ropes. Gladiator D’Avalon is an Oldenburg stallion owned by my good friends Kathy St Martin and Jos Mottershead of Avalon Equine. Ken, as we call him in the barn, is by the full Thoroughbred stallion, Goldmaker. With 73% TB blood, I’m really excited to see where he goes. Gary is an Irish Sporthorse gelding, purchased from Fernhill Sportshorses. While he holds an Irish passport, his breeding is predominantly Dutch Warmblood and Selle Francaise. Gary has tremendous show jumping bloodlines plus the blood to gallop. I’m really hopeful for a big future with him!

Fun at the farm!
